Depop Summer Must Haves
For my second time, I will be participating in “nothing new summer”. The goal is to pledge to go all summer without purchasing new clothes! It’s a fun event that seriously challenges my thrifting skills and impulsive shopping habits.
During this time Depop becomes my best friend. I count on depop for shopping new items that I want and can’t find in my thrift stores. I wanted to share my depop must haves for the summer time! You can find so many unique or trendy items on the app and the best part is the majority is all secondhand. I can still keep my pledge to not buying new all summer while still refreshing up my wardrobe.
Y2K floral - I have been seeing so much lime green on my insta explore page! Neon is obviously going to be the brightest trend this summer. I was drawn to this vintage Y2K lime green dress. I can totally imagine this with some white tennis shoes or chunky platform sandals for those days I’m ready to relive the early 2000’s.
Red gingham - the mood for this dress is definitely sexy picnic. This dress makes me want to throw on some white wedge espadrilles and read in the park all summer. It’s effortless but the fabric makes you think that I tried.
Reformation Slip Dress - uhhh discounted reformation. Need I say more? Keeping up with the same color trend as the first dress but a lot more toned down. To me this dress screams summer with how lightweight and easy going it is.
Y2K denim babydoll - I’m drawn to this dress because of how versatile it can be. The original seller describes it as something from the Simple Life and I totally get that. It’s kind of farm meets LA. I would wear this as is or with a white tee underneath.
Floral reformation - Again, anything that is discounted from reformation is a steal! This is one of my favorite fabrics from ref too!
100% silk rose - casual or dressed up for a night out, a silk dress is an essential. I would style this with a black leather jacket and my docs to give it a little edge.
Vintage esprit cropped cardigan - I’ve noticed Brandy Melville has been making these little cropped cardigans recently. Who needs to buy new and have the same as everyone else when you can get a cool vintage one that was probably your mom’s first.
Handmade bandeau top - Not only is this made from recycled silk fabric, this seller also makes these tops herself! This is a serious must have! It’s so simple but can really spice up any beach ootd.
White babydoll top - I wanted to include this top because I’ve seen so many similar styles from every fast fashion brand this season. It’s okay to add a little trend to your wardrobe when it’s a preloved piece. Thrifting doesn’t just have to be vintage.
Fuzzy lime green tee - I imagine wearing this on a night out when I want to channel my inner spice girl. Just call me sustainable spice.
Polka dot tie top - I imagine this with a pair of light washed denim, espadrilles, and a margarita in my hand at a beach restaurant.
100% silk embroidered - this top is extremely versatile and elegant. You can wear it over a swimsuit at the beach or pair it with dark denim for a night out
Strappy sandals - these are the number one item on my wishlist right now! Sadly these are not in my size but I love the idea of pairing these with a cute sundress or for a night out. I’m all about 90’s inspired footwear right now. Reformation recently released sandals that look just like this but for 3x the cost
Lime green beaded bag - If you can’t commit to a full on limegreen top or dress but still want to enjoy the neon trend, this fun little bag is the perfect pop to any outfit!
Retro sunglasses - nothing screams summer like giant oversized sunnies. I heard a rumor that it’s all about small frame sunglasses but I just can’t get behind that trend. These are classic and fun.
Rosé one piece - rosé is my go to summer drink! This swimsuit is like new and still has the hygienic liner so there is no problem shopping for swimsuits second hand!
Mini bag - Mini bags are IN! I love how dainty and almost impractical these bags are but they are so cute for any occasion.
90’s butterfly clips - I am so upset at myself for getting rid of the thousands of butterfly clips I had when I was younger. These little clips are the perfect little add on to any 90’s inspired outfit.
There are tons of amazing thrifted finds waiting for you at your finger tips. If digging through racks of questionably smelling clothes isn’t for you, you can still shopped thrifted pieces! These are just a few of my wishlist items at the moment. If you’re in search of something you’re tempted to almost buy new do not hesitate to reach out and I’ll help you find it second hand. Becoming a pro depop shopper has become my favorite hobby.
