Book Review: Girl Code

It has been such a long time since I have felt so moved by a book. I recently finished reading Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba. One of my close friends suggested that I read Girl Code because the cover screams me and they could not have been more right. For me, it is really hard to find a book that feels like you are a close friend of the author. Cara's writing feels like you are sharing a bottle of champagne with her while discussing how girls are going to take over the world.

There is something about Cara's style of writing that hits deeply at what I have been feeling the last couple of months and gives me positive solutions to fixing my problems. I read Girl Code in less than two days which is extremely hard for me to do, but I felt like I could not get enough of her advice. This book was filled with passages and quotes that made it hard to not highlight the whole book, but one passage really stayed with me

As I got older. wiser, and more successful, I promised myself I would never fall into the trap of waiting for a man to buy me something I wanted. I also vowed I would redo my "Chanel experience" and buy myself a brand-new Chanel purse with my own hard-earned money.

It is important to work for what you want in life. Personally, I have been finding it a lot more rewarding to earn things on my own from what I have created. My goal with LMKStyle is create a platform for change in the fashion world and how we shop as consumers. The book really helped feed my motivation to expand my business and my message about sustainable fashion. I cannot wait for what the next couple of months have in store for LMKStyle. Any female entrepreneur needs this book in their library! I know I will probably go back to this book in the future when I am stuck again. Check out Cara's social media below.
